FIRE ON PEARL OF SCANDINAVIA HAS BEEN PUT OUT

A fire broke out at around 06:00 today on PEARL OF SCANDINAVIA, the ferry that sails between Oslo and Copenhagen. The fire occurred on the car deck while the ferry was en route from Oslo.
The passengers were evacuated from their cabins to a muster station, but it was not necessary to evacuate anyone from the ship. The fire has now been put out and there are no injuries.
At present the ship is moored off Höganäs.
On board the vessel are 490 passengers, 161 crew members, 23 cars and one coach.
